Class, Safety, and Convenience

Corolla Altis Hybrid delivers optimum performance on the road while ensuring a responsible drive for the environment

Whether cruising through the city or the countryside, the Corolla series has the best of models to offer, fusing class, safety, and convenience with optimum drivability thanks to the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA).

The Corolla Altis series delivers optimum driving performance with improved moving, turning, and stopping features achieved through the TNGA program, which changes the basic architecture of the cars to greatly enhance basic performance and product appeal.

The classic Corolla Altis is a sophisticated everyday sedan sporting a redesigned circular body structured for maximum stability with thinner front pillars and taller windows that give drivers better visibility on the road. Its double wishbone suspension optimizes wheel motion for precise handling, agility and an absolutely comfortable ride.

Ushering in a new era of hybrid cars, the Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid or HEV (which stands for Hybrid Electric Vehicle) ensures maximum fuel mileage while helping lessen impacts to the environment with its advanced Hybrid Technology powered by the combination of a gasoline engine and a self-charging electric motor that doesn’t need to be plugged in to an electricity source. The Corolla Altis Hybrid reduces CO2 emissions while producing and storing its own electric power, as it toggles between its two motors, bringing people, technology and the environment in harmony with each other. Manufactured with the environment in mind, the Corolla Altis Hybrid delivers a safe, quiet and fast drive, not to mention a responsible one.

Apart from their elegant physique and optimum drivability, the Corolla Altis and Altis Hybrid put a premium on the safety and convenience of users. On top of the standard safety features such as the seven airbags surrounding the cabin interior for occupants’ protection, the Hybrid variant operates with the Toyota Safety Sense system or TSS. TSS is a set of safety standards designed to help protect passengers which includes Pre-Collision System (PCS), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) and Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) to warn the driver of imminent collision and keep the car centered in its lane.

Crossing over to a new era with the Corolla Cross

Introducing a new era of driving, Toyota reinvents convenience with the Corolla Cross to take crossovers to a whole new level.  The launch of the Corolla Cross’ HEV variant marks the first time Toyota launched a hybrid crossover in the country. The refined interior makes room for families of five, with more space for cargo at the rear compartment. High-tech interior and premium features such as the 8in infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto guarantee the comfort and convenience of riders for a fun and exciting trip for everyone.

Corolla Cross reinvents convenience in one sophisticated and high-powered package

Drive with peace of mind with Hybrid Advantage in one sleek package. Its Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) complements the 1.8L engine designed exclusively for the hybrid system for drives across the busy city or nature trips. The Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert present in the HEV models  alert the driver to approaching vehicles in their blind spots and when backing up during parking.

Similar to its siblings in this series, the Corolla Cross HEV prioritizes safety through the Toyota Safety Sense technology, including the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Departure Alert (LDA) ensuring a conveniently safe ride every day.

Coming together with history

Investing in a Corolla is a decision that’s smart and reliable with long-lasting benefits as proven by million Corolla owners globally. Be it for solo adventures or family travels, the Corolla’s multi-generation history of providing reliable, trusted and ever-better cars guarantees a safe yet fun and fulfilling ride each time.

Toyota advocates the Altis’ HEV drive technology for practical and sustainable emissions reduction

In an official statement issued yesterday, Toyota Motors Philippines (TMP) recommended Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), particularly their new Corolla Altis Hybrid model, as practical and sustainable options for reducing fossil fuel emissions in the country. In the face of sparse fast-charging facilities, they emphasized how the Altis’ hybrid powerplant reflects the balance they had first struck with their iconic Prius back in 1997 when they did not assume such infrastructure to exist.

The Altis’ 2ZR-FXE hybrid powerplant (the same as on the Prius) mounts a 1.8liter engine with a more efficient but less punchy Atkinson cycle and mates this with an electromotor / generator that would kick in the additional torque needed for roll out and acceleration. Balancing weight and range, the Altis’ electromotor / generator draws power from a compact battery pack that recharges whenever the motor flips into generation mode working off some excess torque shunted from the engine when cruising or from the road wheels when braking.

Unlike Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and full Electric Vehicle (EV) systems, balanced HEVs like the Altis suffer no dependence on commercial charging stations to continue running with cleaner emissions … all these need are the conventional filling stations we already have to top off those fuel tanks.

Technological-advances-in-t
Technological advances in the auto industry now make it possible to drive a car with less impact to the environment.

Manila | May 31, 2021–Sustainable lifestyle is the catchphrase these days. As the effects of global warming hit close to home, more people are recycling, reducing waste and using eco-friendly products. In the Philippines, a study conducted by Kantar revealed that 75 percent of Filipinos are actively seeking alternative solutions to help save the environment.

Fortunately, technological developments in the auto industry make it possible to own a car nowadays while still being kind to the environment.

Driving with a better purpose

Knowing the importance of a more environmentally sustainable mode of transportation, Toyota has long been working on new and innovative ideas and technologies and in 2015, announced its long-term initiative, the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050, which aims to achieve zero CO2 emissions and a net positive environmental impact. The six challenges initiated encompass Toyota’s entire operations, from the manufacture of new vehicles to plant emission, entire vehicle life cycle, water usage optimization, recycling technologies and systems, and connecting nature conservation activities.

Toyota’s global vision of reducing adverse environmental impacts aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals of Affordable and Clean Energy, Climate Action, Clean Water and Sanitation and Responsible Consumption and Production. Toyota envisions a sustainable world where automobiles and the environment are in harmony.

As it continues to strive to become the leading innovator of mobility, Toyota provides consumers with an alternative mobility solution through its hybrid cars.

Sophisticated design and mindful performance

The Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid offers many benefits to both users and the environment

Hybrid cars aren’t a new innovation. In fact, Toyota launched Toyota Prius in Japan in 1997 – the first mass-produced hybrid car in the world. It gained more popularity when it was introduced in the United States in 2000 attracting the interest of A-list celebrities.   The Toyota Corolla Altis is one of Toyota Motor Philippines’ latest generation of cars utilizing the hybrid system, which also comes at an affordable price.

Powered by a 16-valve 1.8L engine and an electric motor and delivering a maximum output of 97hp at 5,200rpm and a maximum torque of 142Nm at 3,600rpm, the Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid automatically switches between driving modes seamlessly: conventional engine only, electric engine only, or combination of the two, depending on the road and driving conditions. The Continuously Variable transmission (CVT) complements the 1.8L engine to improve responsiveness and ensure a smoother and quieter ride.

The Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid’s electric motor is ideal for city driving. When the battery is sufficiently charged, it automatically powers the vehicle to save fuel. During acceleration in an uphill driving, both the engine and battery supply power for optimum performance. The motor generator recovers the kinetic energy from braking, which recharges the hybrid battery.

Design-wise, the Toyota Corolla Altis is sleek and classy. It has a clean-cut look on the outside and an elegant feel on the inside. The compact sedan’s cabin is spacious, and features upgraded driving ergonomics that put emphasis on both functionality and comfort to make the ride more enjoyable. Developed under the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) program, the Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid is part of a family of vehicles that are made ever better. This innovative car-making approach changes the basic architecture of cars for an enhanced basic performance and overall product appeal. With optimized manufacturing and smart collaboration with suppliers and production sites, this initiative leads to a reduction in development resources and reinvestment of reserves.

Toyota’s latest hybrid offering also has the built-in Toyota Safety Sense – a proprietary safety feature designed to help protect drivers and passengers while on the road. The advanced features include Pre-Collision System, Automatic High Beams, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control functions to keep passengers safe.

The greener advantage

Fuel-efficient cars help the environment by reducing pollution and smog. The Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid stands out with its dual-power ability, offering a greener advantage than the most fuel-efficient traditional or electric-powered vehicle.

With the Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid’s self-charging electric battery, there’s no need to worry about the car running out of power or getting stranded. When the car’s battery runs low, it automatically switches to gas motor and goes on to charge the battery without needing to be plugged into an outlet. This makes for an added environmental benefit as there’s less need to charge and consume electricity. Plus, the hybrid battery comes with a 5-year warranty.

Consumers can have peace of mind knowing they can enjoy the freedom of mobility while also championing the environment with the Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid.
