Caltex brings value added offerings to car owners

Caltex teamed up with Data Analytics Ventures, Inc. (DAVI) of the Gokongwei group for their Go Rewards loyalty program and Suzuki Philippines for Caltex SavePlus.

MVP Rewards cardholders got fuel discounts from Caltex stations simply by presenting their card upon fuel purchase

Caltex also offered various discounts and promos all year long. During the monsoon season, Caltex provided fuel discounts for Go Rewards and MVP Rewards cardholders and for CLiQQ rewards cardholders, an opportunity to earn e-stamps for every fuel up that can be used to redeem grocery items and basic goods at 7-Eleven stores nationwide or at cliqqgrocery.com.

Gokongwei Group partnered with Caltex to offer its members more ways to enjoy rewards and benefits through the Go Rewards loyalty program

Caltex also showed its support to the Phiippines’ battle against COVID-19 through its Caltex Biyaheng Bakunado promo which ran twice last year wherein fully vaccinated motorists were able to avail fuel discounts. And just recently, Caltex wrapped up its Christmas season promo, Biyaheng Pamasko, where motorists fueling up on weekends at participating Caltex stations automatically got fuel discounts.

“I am delighted that we were able to reach so many milestones in 2021 as the country gradually reopened. We’re even more determined to continue finding ways to make Filipino motorists journey an enjoyable ride this 2022,” says CPI Country Chairman, Billy Liu.

Premium Warranty now does used vehicle inspections for individual car buyers, sellers

Individual car buyers and sellers can now order quality assurance inspections by Premium Warranty Services Philippines on vehicles they plan to acquire. The 188-point vehicle inspection service takes around 45 minutes to complete and can be done by their mobile surveyor team at remote locations.

Press Statement by Premium Warranty Services Philippines, Inc., “Used car buyers can now book a 188-point inspection service from Premium Warranty,” 26 January 2022:

Premium Warranty Services Philippines, Inc. (PWSPI) serves to enhance the quality of second hand vehicles and provides a wise investment opportunity to sellers and buyers of used cars.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, 26 January 2022–Since its launch last year, Premium Warranty Services Philippines, Inc. (PWSPI) has already inspected over 2,000 vehicles from more than 150 accredited second hand car dealers in the country. This in line with the company’s goal to elevate the used car buying experience and help consumers find quality cars. Now it’s launching another service aimed towards assisting those buying from private sellers, by making its renowned 188-point vehicle inspection available to the general public.

Premium Inspection is aimed towards customers who intend to purchase a second hand vehicle from a private seller, be it a relative, acquaintance, or just someone they met through an online classifieds website. As they’re unaware of the vehicle’s true condition, the buyer can have the vehicle checked by one of PWSPI’s trained surveyors so they can remove guesswork and minimize risk before making a purchase.

Through the on-demand service, PWSPI will deploy a mobile surveyor to vehicle’s location upon the customer’s request. The inspection will then take approximately 45 minutes to complete on-site. Checks include components on the body, exterior, interior, engine, and undercarriage. The thorough evaluation process also uses specialized tools to test the on-board devices (OBD), battery, and alternator to look for hidden faults. Paint thickness and subframes are then carefully scrutinized to find any signs of previous repair, accidents, or flooding, which are crucial details that need to be considered when purchasing a second hand vehicle.

Once the assessment is complete, PWSPI’s surveyor will discuss any noteworthy findings to the customer – explaining to them parts that have passed inspection as well as any areas that may need attention. A complete inspection report will also be available for download online after 24 hours. Rest assured, all PWSPI surveyors are fully-vaccinated and adheres to strict health and safety protocols.

“We understand the plight of the typical car buyer who is in search for quality used cars in the market. With so many available options, it’s often difficult to tell a good car from a bad one. That’s why some rely on a relative, friends, or a mechanic to help them check the vehicle they intend to buy. Let PWSPI be that trusted expert who they can depend on to give an honest assessment and sound advice on the used car they’re buying. Our goal is to give buyers peace of mind and confidence with their purchase through Premium Inspection,” said Koji Kasahara, President of PWSPI.

Private sellers can likewise avail of Premium Inspection and have their inventory checked beforehand. The inspection report and PWSPI’s certification gives them more credibility as a seller since they are fully transparent on the car’s condition to prospective buyers, improving their chances of the vehicle being sold.

Premium Inspection is applicable to any type of vehicle regardless of brand, model, type, age, or mileage. It can now be booked online through PWSPI’s website or Facebook page. The on-demand service is available from Mondays to Saturdays during regular work hours and can be deployed to any point in Metro Manila and select parts of Bulacan, Rizal, and Calabarzon. The service can be availed for a minimal fee of Php 2,600 paid via bank deposit or online channels.

For more information on PWSPI’s services, please visit http://pwsp.com.ph or follow Premium Warranty Services Philippines on Facebook.

Chevron completes second annual volunteer week in face of pandemic conditions

Caltex brand marketer Chevron pushed through with their second annual volunteer week event under prevailing public health conditions.

Press Statement by Chevron Philippines Inc., “Chevron Volunteer Week 2021 supports local businesses and provides sustainable aid to local communities,” 11 January 2022:

The spirit of volunteerism remains alive in Chevron employees through the annual Chevron Annual Volunteer Week. Photo above shows residents of Bgy. Pagibig sa Nayon, Quezon City getting their bags of vegetables and groceries good for two-days courtesy of Chevron employees.

Makati, Philippines, January 11, 2022–Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex brand of fuels and lubricants, held its second blended annual Chevron Volunteer Week with both virtual and real-world activities. In the recent series of activities, Chevron provided locally-sourced aid to local communities while promoting a more sustainable lifestyle to the employee-volunteers through online workshops.

“During these trying times, it’s important for us to keep the essence of volunteerism alive. I’m glad that we are able to continue our Volunteer Week activities even virtually where Chevron employees are able to do their part in protecting the environment, supporting local farmers and businesses while helping as much as we can to those who are badly in need,” said Billy Liu, CPI country chairman and general manager.

Supporting local farmers

Vegetables sourced from farmers in Pampanga and Nueva Ecija being packed by St. Isidore the FARMer Learning Center Inc’s volunteers., Chevron’s partner organization. These were donated to 80 families in Barangay Pagibig sa Nayon, Quezon City.

Volunteer Week 2021 started with Project Oh My Gulay wherein Chevron sourced vegetables from farmers in Pampanga and Nueva Ecija through partner St. Isidore the FARMer Learning Center Inc., a training center for the development of agriculture. The vegetables were donated to 80 families in Brgy. Pagibig sa Nayon in Quezon City together with three-days-worth of food supplies.

Aside from the donation, Chevron volunteers attended a virtual cooking workshop hosted by Chef Joy Escobar where they learned how to prepare organic and healthy dishes. Project Oh My Gulay’s goal was to raise awareness on benefit of healthy eating while supporting and appreciating local farmers in the country.

Bokashi compost kits were donated to 56 families in Tondo, Manila to help them start to grow more crops for less cost

Promoting sustainable lifestyle by composting

The second activity held was Project Bokashi Compost, facilitated by Karen Pascua, a certified Bokashi Compost Mentor and Edible Urban Gardener. Volunteers were taught the importance of food waste diversion and composting using Bokashi Technology.

Chevron also donated Bokashi Compost kits and grocery packs to 56 families in Tondo, Manila through St. John Bosco Parish and Bureau of Plant Industry’s Gulayan ni Juan, a community effort that helps families within Tondo to sustain their livelihood by selling local produce.

A total of 65 volunteers participated in the annual Coastal clean up in San Pascual Batangas

Protecting marine life

A staple activity in Chevron Volunteer Week is the annual Batangas Coastal clean-up, held every September in time for the International Coastal Clean-up month. A total of 64 volunteers cleaned up the two-kilometer coastline in San Pascual, which straddles the Chevron Batangas Terminal.

Chevron volunteers removed debris and trash that could prevent sea turtles from laying their eggs on the beach. About 210 bags of non-biodegradable trash and 100 bags of biodegradable waste with a total gross weight of 755 pounds (.3422 metric tons) were collected by the volunteers.

Living a life that sparks joy

The last activity for this year’s Volunteer Week is Project Joy led by a certified KonMari consultant, Renalyn Tan Castillejos. Chevron volunteers learned the Konmari method wherein they had to let go of the things that don’t spark joy anymore but can still be beneficial to those who are in need.

The activity was in partnership with Project Pearls, a non-stock, nonprofit and non-partisan organization whose mission is to help the poorest children and families have a better life through education, literacy, nutrition, healthcare, empowerment and livelihood. All decluttered stuff from the volunteers were donated to the beneficiaries in Brgy. Malainen Bago, Naic Cavite, a relocation site for the poor families of Tondo, Manila.

Chevron has been conducting Volunteer Week (VW) every year since 2009. It’s a week-long event where employees have the opportunity to volunteer their time to activities that help communities in need. VW supports programs that promote livelihood, safety, health, education and the environment.  This is the second time in as many years that VW was held in a blended format to keep both employees and beneficiaries safe during the pandemic.
