First N-Series Smoother turnover by Isuzu Philippines

After launching their N-Series Smoother light-duty truck with its novel Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) just last October, Isuzu Philippines now announces the first ever unit turnover for this market. An N-Series Smoother with its innovative AMT gearbox meant for tough urban traffic was delivered last week to Kimwealth Infinity Marketing Corp., marketer of lighting and electrical hardware based in Quezon City.

Press Statement by Isuzu Philippines Corp., “Isuzu PH turns over the First Isuzu N-Series Smoother to Customer,” 06 December 2021:

L-R: Mr. Raymond Jarina, Inteco President; Ms. Minelli Ong, VP of Kimwealth Infinity Marketing Corporation; Mr. Hajime Koso, IPC President; Mr. Ranvin Jarina Isuzu QA Branch Manager

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), the country’s leading assembler and distributor of brand-new trucks, together with Inteco President, Raymond Jarina and Isuzu Quezon Avenue Branch Manager, Ranvin Jarina, turned over the first Isuzu N-Series Smoother truck in the country to Kimwealth Infinity Marketing Corporation, a supplier of lighting fixtures and other electrical devices, located in Congressional Avenue, Quezon City.

During turnover, Ms. Minelli Ong, Vice President of Kimwealth Infinity Marketing Corporation, shared that their business is expanding, and they needed a brand-new truck to serve their need for timely and reliable delivery of products to customers.   And because of their good experience with their current Isuzu trucks, they decided to visit their trusted dealership whom she described as “Isuzu QA has always been our dealer over the years.  They ensure to provide the best quality trucks and other vehicles and provide the best after-sales service.”  When asked why she chose Isuzu N-Series Smoother, she asserted, “The concept of drive like AT, efficient like MT convinced us to buy the N-Series Smoother. “With various benefits of reduced lifecycle and maintenance costs, improved fuel efficiency, and less driving fatigue for safety will contribute a lot towards the cost-effectiveness of our company”.

On their dealer visit, Ranvin Jarina helped Kimwealth Infinity Marketing understand how the Isuzu Smoother is a better option.  As he explained, “With their countless daily deliveries and considering traffic inside and outside Metro Manila, the Isuzu N-Series Smoother is ideal since it is easy to drive, economical, and safe.  It is because of its Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) technology, an innovative intelligent gearshift system.  It operates without the clutch pedal and achieves automatic shift change by computer control. This lessens the driving stress and allows driver to focus on the road.  And because it has no clutch pedal, it is economical because there is no need to spend on clutch maintenance and no downtime due to clutch component breakdown.”

IPC President, Mr. Hajime Koso, valued the partnership between Kimwealth Infinity Marketing Corporation and Isuzu Quezon Avenue emphasizing both companies’ commitment to their customers. “As the number one truck brand in the country, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) once again takes the lead in the Philippine truck market as we introduce the Isuzu N-Series Smoother, the first light duty truck with an automated manual transmission in the country.  This Isuzu model has long been existing and highly popular in the overseas market.  And we are confident our newest light duty truck model will have good market acceptance.   In 2020, we finished as Philippine’s top truck brand, making us number 1 truck brand for 21 years in a row.  This year, with the Isuzu N-Series Smoother we want to take the same lead”, Mr. Koso said.

Hino Philippines spotlights series 300 model with 6-speed AT

After launching their upgraded 300 series line-up of light-duty trucks last March, and this reportedly in response to what they observed as a thriving e-commerce sector, Hino Motors Philippines now puts the spotlight on the specific model featuring an automatic transmission. Hino’s series 300 XZU600LA with its 6-speed AT gearbox, optimized engine braking and an expanded clutch lock-up range looks ideal for urban traffic grid punishment … and for attracting new drivers to what appears to be a growing segment.

Press Statement by Hino Motors Philippines Corp., “Drive easy with the new Hino 300 fully automatic truck,” 23 November 2021:

Manila, Philippines, November 2021 – Hino Motors Philippines Corporation (HMP), the exclusive distributor of Hino trucks and buses in the country, treats drivers to easy and enjoyable rides with its new Hino 300 equipped with fully automatic transmission.

Yes, we’re talking about the ever-reliable business partner, the Hino 300.

The Hino 300 series, known for its durability and reliability, has been the preferred partner of starting business owners and established enterprises alike. Now with a fully automatic variant, Hino is poised to fill the gap in the steadily increasing demand for small-lot delivery vehicles.

“The pandemic has prompted great changes in transportation and logistics. As e-commerce continues to grow, so does the need for more small cargo carriers and drivers who can conveniently operate them. Hino’s new light duty truck with a true automatic transmission addresses this concern, offering great ease in operability that even new and less-skilled drivers can drive with much confidence and safety,” said HMP President Mitsuharu Tabata.

Hino’s fully automatic truck, the XZU600LA, comes with an upgraded safety package consisting  of an SRS airbag and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). This makes Hino the first automotive company in the country to offer such features on a light duty truck. With a true automatic transmission, drivers get less fatigued, thereby improving attentiveness on the road. All these add to the overall safety of the driver, vehicle and cargo.

Furthermore, a fully automatic transmission eliminates all hassles on clutch maintenance and repairs. This also helps achieve a more consistent fuel consumption, which is crucial for trucks operating around the clock and drivers having different driving behaviors. A traditional manual transmission’s fuel consumption is greatly influenced by the driver’s skill. A fully automatic transmission, however, makes it easier for business owners to plan and rationalize their operations ahead of time. Overall, a true automatic truck provides real benefits for business owners such as more uptime on operations, lower maintenance costs and consistent fuel consumption, all of which lead to better profits.

The Hino 300 series comes in 11 variants for a wide range of loading capacity from 3,800 to 8,500kg gross vehicle weight. Equipped with a Euro 4-compliant N04C engine, these trucks pack superior power at 136 PS for the XZU302 to 600L and 150 PS for the XZU710 to 730L. On torque, these trucks pull up to 390Nm for the 302 to 600L and up to 420Nm on the 710 to 730L series. That’s higher power and efficiency compared to most light duty trucks in the market to tackle more load at any road condition.

The new Hino 300 series also features upgraded amenities such as USB and Bluetooth-capable entertainment system, built-in 4-piece air conditioning vents in select variants as well as power doors and windows and overhead consoles for added convenience.

“At Hino, we provide only the best for our customers. With this fully automatic truck, we intend to upgrade our drivers’ experience, giving much consideration for their safety and well-being while enabling them to perform their important role in our communities. This results in mutual benefits for all concerned — drivers, operators and their customers. Such is Hino’s Total Support promise — a holistic, reliable and trusted solutions in every aspect of our and our customers’ operations,” shared Tabata.
