Jeepney X, Inc. has rolled out the E101, a Class II modern electric jeepney built to seat 22 and powered by a pair of swappable 52 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs good for up to 150 kilometers per charge, with the local distributor pricing the model from PhP 2,650,000.

Jeepney X, Inc. a local distributor in the Philippine market, has recently introduced their flagship model, the E101 Class II modern electric jeepney as the answer to rising fuel prices. With an overall length of 5,037 mm and overall width of 2,028 mm, this modern jeepney can comfortably seat up to twenty two (22) passengers (excluding standing passengers).
The cockpit is ergonomically-designed with an adjustable (sliding and reclining) bucket driver seat matched with an adjustable headrest, a driver-oriented dashboard with wood panels, a four-spoke polyurethane steering wheel, a colored instrument meter with an informative LED multi-information display, a 9-inch touchscreen entertainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, six (6) five-inch roof mounted audio speakers, three (3) USB ports, and a cupholder for the driver.
This modern electric jeepney has a host of safety features such as a three-point emergency locking retractor (ELR) driver seatbelt, a two-point lap type seatbelt for the front passenger, a wide rearview mirror, long stainless handrails with safety grab handles, a mechanical lever-type parking brake, an emergency safety shut OFF button, large sideview mirrors with front ball mirror, a fire extinguisher, six (6) emergency safety hammers, window guard rails, wiper-blade mounted washer system and intermittent wipers.
Since this is a Class II modern public utility vehicle, the seating arrangement is side facing with long cushioned bench type seats and an electric folding passenger door.
Despite being long, driving this jeepney is easy thanks to the hassle-free automatic transmission (toggle-switch operated) and electronic power steering. It has a leaf type all wheel suspension system (with eight leaf springs per wheel) and 215/70 R15 tubeless tires mounted with steel rims to accommodate its high payload capacity and an all-wheel drum type hydraulic braking system.
The vehicle is driven by a 72-Volt, 240-Ampere AC (alternating current) asynchronous motor at its rear wheels (4×2 rear wheel drive) that has a maximum power output of 15 kilowatts (20 horsepower) with a maximum speed of 35 kph ideal for inner city operations. It is powered by two (2) 52 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) CALB battery packs (72 Volts and 400 Ampere maximum current) sealed with an internal protection of IP54 that can withstand dust and water splashes. These are two swappable batteries that are accessible to both sides of the vehicle.
This electric vehicle can run up to 150 kilometers in a single charge and comes with a three (3) year or 150,000 kilometer electrical system (including EV battery) warranty whichever comes first.
